At Gethsemane Lutheran Church, our mission is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves to experience the transformative power of belonging to a life-giving Christian community. We are deeply committed to fostering an environment where all are welcomed with gracious invitation, regardless of their background, circumstances, or beliefs. Through our inclusive and nurturing community, we strive to create a space where individuals can grow spiritually, find support and companionship, and experience the boundless love and grace of God.
Moreover, our vision extends beyond the walls of our church, encompassing the broader neighborhood in which we reside. We believe that a just and healthy neighborhood is essential for the well-being and flourishing of all its inhabitants. Thus, we are actively engaged in initiatives aimed at promoting justice, equity, and holistic well-being within our community. Whether through advocacy efforts, collaborative partnerships with local organizations, or direct service to those in need, we are dedicated to making a positive and lasting impact on the fabric of our neighborhood.

A Brief History of Gethsemane Lutheran Church:



​The congregation of Gethsemane Lutheran Church was formed in April of 1893.  Like the world and the neighborhood around us, we have undergone countless changes in the last 100+ years.  In spite of the challenges facing small urban churches, we are committed to maintaining our presence on the corner of 47th & Colfax.  We currently hold weekly virtual and bilingual Church services, outreach programs, and so much more! We find great joy in working in faith to share the Gospel here in the Camden neighborhood of North Minneapolis.
